This error is usually caused with older units that have a large number of data files stored in the onboard computer. This can result in the request EZReporter sends to the Fusion to find the reprocessed samples to take too long and generate a timeout error
If you are running version 22.214.171.124 or later, then you can increase the “Data Connection Timeout” value in the connector settings:
Increase the timeout value from 8000 to 20000 milliseconds.
If you are running a version of EZReporter that is older than 126.96.36.199, then you will either need to upgrade to a newer version, or edit the Fusion Connector settings file manually as follows:
- Close EZReporter if it is running.
- Browse to the following folder:
Note: The “ProgramData” folder is usually hidden by Windows, but you can enter the path manually. Alternatively, in EZReporter click, “Tools > Browse EZReporter System Folders > Program Data Folder”, and then browse to the “instruments\instrument1” folder
- This folder should contain the following file:
You will need to open this file in Windows Notepad to edit it.
- The file contents should look something like this:
You want to change the “getfusiondatatimeout” value from “8000” (8 seconds) to a larger value – try “20000” (20 seconds) to begin with. When you edit the value, be careful not to remove any of the quotation marks, slashes, etc.
- Finally, save the edited file and restart EZReporter.
