EZReporter Customers using the OpenLab version of EZChrom

There appears to be a defect in the OpenLab version of the Agilent EZChrom Chromatography Data System that prevents results from being transferred to EZReporter automatically after acquisition.  However, when you reanalyze the data file manually after the run, the results are transferred as expected.  The defect prevents the “After Export” program, “ProcessEZChromData.exe”, from being called after acquisition.

To address this issue, we have written a new utility program called “EZ Result Monitor” that eliminates the need for the “After Export” program in the EZChrom method.  It is a standalone program that watches the EZChrom export folder for the .ESD text files, and then processes the results contained in those files automatically as they are detected.

We have released a new version of EZReporter that contains this utility.  You can download EZReporter 3.0.1.2 at this link:

2013 Natural History Calendar

It has become a tradition at Diablo Analytical to create a special calendar each year for the customers, vendors, business partners, and friends who have helped contribute to our success.  Rather than simply having our logo printed on a “stock” calendar, we instead create a unique calendar composed of images that Founding Principal, Scott Hein, personally captured during the past year (you can see more of Scott’s images at photos.heinphoto.com).

The 2013 Natural History Calendar is at the printer now and will be available soon.  In addition to the usual photos of the the landscapes, plants, and animals around Mount Diablo, the 2013 edition also covers Yosemite National Park and the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the Winter, Summer, and Fall.

We have a limited number of our Natural History Calendars available by request for customers in North America. Please enter your shipping address below, and we will send you a calendar as long as they are available.

EZReporter 3.0.0.4 Service Release 1

Diablo Analytical has released Version 3.0.0.4 of the  EZReporter Software.  This Service Release addresses 2 minor issues:

  1. Addressed a change in the format of the Acquisition Time text result produced by the OpenLab version of EZChrom in which a GMT offset is appended to the standard date text.  This causes problems with formatting of date results, date-based queries of the Results Database, etc.  The EZChrom Connector now checks for the presence of the GMT offset text in the Acquisition Time field and strips it from the result if it is found.
  2. Fixed a problem with the printed parameter report where if the low alarm  status was “Pass” it would overwrite the “Fail” status string of the high alarm.

Installing this Release

To install this release, simply download and run the installation program linked below.  You current version of EZReporter will be uninstalled and the new version installed automatically.  Your license status will be preserved.

Important:  If you are using a modified version of one of the default configuration files, make sure that you rename the configuration file from the original file name.  Whenever you install EZReporter, the default configuration files are reset to their standard settings, so any customizations you have made would be lost.

2012 Gulf Coast Conference

EZReporter 3.0 Software Released

Diablo Analytical has released Version 3.0 of the  EZReporter Software.  In addition to bug fixes and miscellaneous minor enhancements, this new release of the EZReporter  adds the following significant new capabilities:

Standard Edition/Base Module Enhancements

The following enhancements apply to all editions of the EZReporter software:

  • Calculated Results – new Calculated Results are based on custom formulas you enter using a “Formula Builder”. The Formula Builder allows you to select from a list of available result variables and supported arithmetic operators to build a custom formula that will be evaluated to a numeric value when processing results. The Calculated Result is then displayed in the Results Summary part of the report along with a descriptive caption that you also specify.
  • Report enhancements – automatically save a PDF version of the report to a designated folder.
  • Report enhancements – set report margins to allow for printing onto letterhead.
  • Report enhancements – all report labels and table headers can now be customized.
  • Report enhancements – added an option to Report Control to include only components with amount > 0 in the displayed/printed component report.

New Analog & Digital Output Module

Responding to requests from customers who need to interface their chromatography and natural gas analysis results with process control systems, Diablo has added a new Analog & Digital Output Module as an optional add-on for EZReporter.  The EZReporter Analog & Digital Output Module allows you to generate 4-20 mA analog outputs and digital/alarm outputs based on Monitored Parameter results using National Instruments Compact FieldPoint I/O hardware.

Important:  This add-on module requires the National Instruments Compact FieldPoint distributed I/O hardware, purchased separately.
