EZReporter 4.0.20.0 Released

Diablo Analytical has released Version 4.0.20.0 of the EZReporter Software.

Note:  If you are currently running EZReporter Version 4.0.19.1 or 4.0.19.2 and are using one of the GPA 2186/2286 allocation or bridging calculation and reporting methods, it is recommended that you upgrade to Version 4.0.20.0, which addresses issues with rounding and normalization under certain circumstances and makes these calculations consistent in their approach. Note that there may be small differences in reported result values compared to previous versions due to these changes.

This update includes the following enhancements and fixes:

Enhancements:

[+] [ALL] Added full support for the PerkinElmer SimplicityChrom chromatography data system.  The PE TotalChrom Connector Plugin has been renamed the PE Data System Connector Plugin and supports both TotalChrom and SimplicityChrom.  See the PE Data System Connector Plugin Manual for details.

Changes or Fixes:

Important: If you enable extended fraction reporting and select any of the new GPA 2186-22 or GPA 2286-24 calculation methods, the resulting configuration file will not be fully backwards compatible with older versions of EZReporter (older than 4.0.19.0). When the older version of EZReporter loads a configuration file with one of these new calculation methods selected, it will convert GPA 2186-22/2286-24 Allocation methods to Calibrated Raw Allocation (Allocation) and GPA 2186-22/2286-24 Bridging methods to Calibrated Raw Combined/Bridging with bridging enabled. These calculations will give very similar results for samples with the FID calibrated, but not exactly the same results. The older versions of EZReporter do not support the Universal Relative Response Factor method, so they are unable to process results with the FID uncalibrated. If you want to share these configuration files with other computers running EZReporter it is highly recommended that you make sure the other computers are running version 4.0.19.0 or later.

[-] [ALL] Fixes #37: Machine-locked license code can’t be used to reactivate manually activated license that had been deactivated on same computer.

[-] [NGA] Fixes #45: Add warning if NGL C6+/combined component isn’t set to an actual component. Warning code was present, but not correctly referencing the combined component. Also added new GPA 2186/2286 calculation methods to the settings validation check, updated warning messages accordingly, and added warnings to the log.

.NET Framework 4.7.2 Runtime is Required

This version of EZReporter 4.0 requires the Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 Framework runtime to be installed. If the computer has an Internet connection, then the installer will automatically download the runtime if it is needed. If the computer is not connected to the Internet, then you will need to download the runtime file from our web site and copy it to the same folder as the installer before starting the installation. The runtime file is 526 MB in size.

Note: if you are running a relatively recent version of Windows 10 (April 2018 Update – Version 1803 or later) or any version of Windows 11, then your system already has the runtime installed. In addition, another program may have already installed the runtime. So you only need to download the runtime if it isn’t already installed on your computer.

Installing this Release

If you are running version 4.0.4.1 or later, you can download and install the correct version of the software using the “Check for Updates” option of the “Help” menu.

Otherwise, simply download and run the installation program from the download page.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you download the installer that includes support for the chromatography data system you are using.

NOTE: The “web” version of the installer can be used to upgrade an existing installation even if the computer doesn’t have Internet access.

Your current version of EZReporter will be uninstalled and the new version installed automatically.  Your license status will be preserved.

Software Support/Maintenance Subscription

This is a free upgrade if your software support subscription has not expired.  You can view the status of software support in the License Status window (click “Help > License Status”).  If software support has expired then you will need to renew your support subscription before upgrading to this version.  Contact Diablo Analytical for information on renewing software support.

EZReporter 4.0.19.3 Released

[-] [NGA] Modified the NGL Allocation and Bridging calculations so they are consistent in calculation approach and rounding of the total and C6+/FID amounts. Note that you may see small differences in results compared to previous versions due different rounding calculations.

[+] [NGA] When extended fraction calculations are enabled the components in the component table are color coded based on whether they are in the TCD Channel (green), FIS Channel (blue), Excluded (red), Bridge Component (yellow) or C6+/Combined component (gray).

[+] [NGA] Added an option to the miscellaneous settings to use unrounded component amounts in intermediate calculations. This impacts the NGA/NGL calculations.

Significant Fixes and Other Changes:

[-] [ALL] Fixes #35: Customize result order function appears to be broken. The customize result order option is no longer disabled whenever the configuration file is reloaded, which restores the functionality. Associated prompts and reference manual were updated to reflect the new behavior.

[-] [NGA] Fixes #34: Review ISO 6976 / 29922 water vapor pressure setting. For ISO 6976 calculations, EZReporter has been using a water vapor pressure of 1.705 kPa at metering conditions of 15 DegC and 101.325 kPa to calculate the saturated water content. This value was derived from ISO 6976 (1995) Annex F. In ISO 29922:2017 the water vapor pressure under those conditions is specified as 1.706 kPa. For consistency with ISO 6976 (2016) and ISO 29922:2017, the Standard Components database, ISO 6976 (2016) configuration templates, calculation check configuration files, and NGA/NGL manual were updated to use the ISO 29922:2017 water vapor pressure values for 0, 15, 15.55, and 20 DegC.

[-] [NGA] Reviewed NGA/NGL configuration templates and removed obsolete templates that should no longer be used from the distribution. Also, renamed some of the NGA BLM Onshore configuration templates from “Extended” to “C9+” since they aren’t standard extended analysis methods.

[-] [NGA] Fix #27: Deleting additional extended fraction not deleting extended components properly.

[-] [ALL] The Open Data File function now defaults to the data folder specified in the Data File Settings rather than the EZReporter “Data” folder.

EZReporter 4.0.18.0 Released

Diablo Analytical has released Version 4.0.18.0 of the EZReporter Software.

This is a major update with the following enhancements and fixes:

Significant Enhancements:

[+] [ALL] When an instrument is saved and the “Monitor instruments” checkbox” is not checked, the user is prompted whether they want to begin to monitor instruments for results.  If “Monitor Instruments”” is unchecked and auto-start monitoring is not enabled, the user is prompted whether to enable both options.
[+] [NGA] Updated the ASTM D2598-21 FPS and SI configuration templates to include the MON physical properties and MON Component and total results in the report.  These configuration templates have raw amount units of liquid volume%.
[+] [NGA] Added the D2598-21 Motor Octane Number (MON) calculation with both Component and Total MON results. The MON physical properties have been added to both the D2598-21 (FPS) and D2598-21 (SI) data sources.  If you have existing configuration files reporting D2598 results, you will need to transfer the MON physical constants to your configuration in order to calculate MON.
[+] [RDB] The following new fields have been added to the Results Database:

The Results Database user version has been updated from 4.0.8 to 4.0.9.
Important: You will be prompted to upgrade your database when you restart EZReporter.  The upgrade simply adds these fields to the table.  Your current database file will be backed up prior to the upgrade.

Significant Fixes and Other Changes:

[-] [NGA] Fixed an issue with the “Bottle Cleaned” custom sample information field in the “BLM Onshore.Extended.GPA 2145-16.FlowCal.cfgt” configuration template that would cause an error when exporting text. The “Bottle Cleaned” field was inadvertently set to “Numeric” when it is actually a text field.

[-] [NGA] Fixed an issue with the logic when enabling/disabling Water Calculations. The Saturated/Flowing/Wet reporting options are now unchecked when water calculations are disabled. This prevents other dependent settings like “Prompt for Flowing Temperature and Pressure” from getting locked in an enabled state.

[-] [NGA] Fixed an issue where you could not set the NGL C6+ extended fraction and bridging components to “None” once they had been set to an actual component.

[-] ABB PCCU Connector Plugin: If Processing Method 2 is selected and PCCU is not installed on the computer, then the Run Reports folder will be set to the EZReporter export folder. This enables processing of existing Run Reports files by dropping them into the folder, or using the “Open and Process PCCU Run Report File” context menu option.

[-] [NGA] Fixed: The ISO 6976 (2016) Net Calorific Value result could have the value of the uncorrected Gross Calorific Value if the configuration was edited and saved and then reprocessed manually without loading the configuration file. This issue was not triggered when processing results automatically from the GC data system, after restarting EZReporter, or after loading a configuration file.
